Roy & Deeya

Last weekend I was down in Glastonbury, shooting the handfasting of Roy and Deeya - a lovely couple from Mauritius. Although it was my first time photographing a handfasting, I'd been to one before so the format wasn't completely new to me.

The locations for both the ceremony and reception were beautiful. The reception venue itself backed onto the remains of Glastonbury Abbey, to which we were fortunate to be allowed access for some evening photos.

I had a free weekend a couple of weeks ago, so decided to spend it doing a shoot with a friend who had offered to model for me.

We started off in the wonderful Arnos Vale cemetery in Bristol - a huge, overgrown Victorian cemetery that in places looks more like a woodland, apart from the occasional slanting gravestone. We got some great shots among the trees before heading down to the main area for a different scene.

Only problem was finding that we were locked in as the doors shut at 5, so a mile detour with a vault over a wall was needed to get back to the car.

After that, we headed to Temple Meads station for some industrial shots.
